Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil was ordained a priest in 1994 and is the founder and director of Anointing Fire Catholic Ministries. Moved by the Holy Spirit, he established the Sehion Retreat Centre and formed AFCM to labour for the evangelization of the world.
What began as a humble prayer group in a remote village in India has grown into a movement that carries the love of Christ across many nations. A gifted preacher, Fr. Xavier leads retreats for priests, religious, and lay faithful, and reaches millions through television, radio, and other media — awakening hearts to the power of the Word of God, the Catholic Church, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Anointing Fire Catholic Ministry is a joint missionary work of two religious communities — the Preachers of Divine Mercy (PDM) and the Abhishekagni Sisters of Jesus and Mary (ASJM) — together with AFCM communities around the world. Our desire is simple: that every person would encounter the living God, come to know His mercy, and be set ablaze with the fire of His love.
Here in New Jersey, we live that mission through weekly Eucharistic adoration, the faithful preaching of the Word of God, intercessory prayer, retreats, and the free distribution of Bibles to those who do not have one.
We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit at work in the Catholic Church, in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, in the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and in the saving Name of Jesus. Everything we do flows from prayer and returns to it.
